At Fredhopper we are seeking to expand our team of engineers that develop our next generation search engine. This challenging task involves working on issues, such as performance of information retrieval algorithms, scalability of dealing with huge amounts of data and user requests, fault tolerance of distributed systems, and executive monitoring and management of large-scale operations.

The nature of the issues we're working on require a development team that yields both excellent analytical and engineering skills. We are therefore looking for people with a strong analytical background.

Qualifications

• Graduate university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics (last year students will also be considered)
• Strong analytical ability to grasp the complexities of distributed systems
• Proven knowledge of the Java programming language, or other OO language
• Good understanding of Web-related standards, such as HTTP and XML
• Good knowledge of English language
